Beach Camp @ Ntafufu

The tents consist of two single beds, an onsuite shower, toilet, and basin. Bedding is not provided but can be arranged if required.

The Camp is totally off the grid. Lights are provided by solar panels and batteries. Gas geysers provide hot water. To operate the gas geysers, open the hot tap as quickly as possible. You will hear the geyser ignite. Add cold water to suit.

The Dining Lapa is fully equipped with gas operated fridge, freezer, stove , and all cooking utensils. It is not advisable to drink the water, drinking water is provided. Please do not waste water.

The entire camp is under thatch roof, so please do not smoke in or near the tents. When cooking or braaiing, please take special care.

Louie is our camp manager, and we have security guards throughout the night. The camp is owned by the local community, and they take pride in the fact that the camp is safe and there have not been any crime related incidents.

When joining us at Beach Camp @ Ntafufu, a 4×4 is not essential, but it is recommended, especially if it rains. If it looks like rain on the day of your departure, rather park your vehicle at the top parking area, adjacent to the footpath into the camp. Your vehicle should also have a fairly good ground clearance.

Canoes are available for use entirely at your own risk. The Ntafufu River is tidal. Paddling experience and knowledge of tides are essential. Life jackets must be worn at all times.

Please do not feed the local dogs.

Please release all fish caught in the estuary. Fish caught from the ocean can be kept for the pot if it is within legal limits.

Cell phone reception can be found above the camp and on the beach. You may charge your phone from the solar power point in the Dining Lapa.

You may bring a fishing boat. We have a Camp Manager who is in attendance 24 hours a day.
